DAMN COMUTER...OPERATOR

Today, I got nothing.

I mean all kinds of nothing.

I've been playing around with the flock blog thingy the last two days.

This isn't the first time I have used it.

I used it exclusively to write all my blogs for almost 2 years.  So I kind of know what I am doing when I use it.

But then I started using Scribefire,

and I really like the way it works.

So instead of using reliable Scribefire.  I decided for shits and giggles to play around with Flock.

Yesterday my computer ate my blog.

Not today though.  Today was an extra special day.  Today I was able to show myself how dumb I can possibly be.

I've gotten in the habit of saving all my work...except on those very rare occasions when I mean to minimize and I prematurely double click on the little X.  Luckily, if I don't save...HAL here  asks me "are you sure you want to do this before you save?"  A fail safe that has saved it's fair share of blogs.  Which is usually very reliable...until you throw in operator error.

Did you see that?  No??  Let me show you again...

Yup...I closed it without saving either time.

And this time I couldn't blame the computer because it tried to save what I had done.

Yet it couldn't save my blog from me.  I'm actually annoyed that I have written a grand total of 5 blogs in the last 30 hours.  Three of them are more or less rewrites of the same blog, two of them are explaining what I did and this is the worst one of all.  I have to rewrite it once more.

After all that's been said and done...that's all I got this morning and with that I pass.

SONG OF THE WEEK 3

Hello my friends, cohorts and those that aren't either, and welcome to my blog.

I'll hear some amazing song on a commercial or at the end of some TV show, that just blows me away. So I do what anybody with an I-net connection does. I go searching for it, like Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom. Albeit, while searching for this amazing song, I more often than not, get distracted.

INTERMISSION
This is a common occurrence for me. My soon to be ex-wife says I have "OOOOH SHINY" syndrome. Which means well...you know how you can usually distract small children with shiny objects? Well then you get the idea. Anyways...
END OF INTERMISSION

For example, I'll hear this song, and it's by some new or unsigned band. I think to myself "Self, this is a major discovery!" So, I end up searching for everything on the web by them so I can give them a fair shake.

Like most people, depending on my mood at that moment, my music tastes may change, usually at the drop of a hat. So what I once thought was a cool song gets forgotten, because I may not have cared for the rest of what I found.

Or worse...if it's an established artist, and I go looking for some other song of theirs that I like, and suddenly I have forgotten the first song. Then just like that the songs I was searching go the way of the Bermuda Triangle.

A little while ago, I heard this song at the end of the TV series "Mercy", I looked for it, found it, and put up a little blurb about it. I did this mainly because I was absolutely exhausted, and I wanted to really mull it over a little later, and this way I wouldn't have to search for it.

This made me happy when I woke up later that day, because there was the song in it's easy to reach container. So with all that said, here it is...the official SONG OF THE WEEK...

I was listening to one of the digital radio stations whilst making "Breakfast for Supper" a few weeks back, and this song came on.  It starts off with this sweet "alternative/poppy" sound (which kind of reminded me of the Murmurs first album).  Surprisingly and with much joy it kicks off into this wall of sound/punk feel.  It made me happy in my happy place and angry in my angry place, at the same time.  Then I watched the video and I was officially hooked.

So the Song of the Week is...

MOVIE REVIEWS 3

Hello my friends, cohorts and those that aren't either, and welcome to my blog.

You know what has always bugged me?  Movie reviews that take a "I'm so much smarter than you" route.  Every movie review I have ever read takes this approach.  They sit there and with a fine tooth comb and condemn every aspect of the movie or they praise the intellectual aspects of this cinematic experience.

Me, I just want a simple review.  Did the movie achieve it's goal.  How was the acting?  Was the script/story any good.  Was the movie entertaining.  Add a positive comment.  Add a negative comment.  Finally make a simple scale and rate that movie accordingly.

It's not asking for much.

Reading a movie review shouldn't have to be a chore.

So let's make that scale

   1. Will never watch the movie again
   2. If I HAVE to I'll watch the movie again
   3. I will watch the movie again
   4. I look forward to watching the movie again
   5. I'll watch this movie everyday

Now let's review some movies...

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

The story was OK, although the pacing of the movie felt slow at times and at other times the movie seemed choppy. To me, much of the dialogue seemed forced and didn't flow as well as it did in the first movie. Although these faults did not take away from the movie but, it did make the characters seem one dimensional. I guess my only real complaint is that nothing really happens. I kept waiting for something to make the movie feel special, something to make the movie just "POP" and that didn't happen. But the special f/x, which were used sparingly and used very well, did add to the aesthetics of this film.  Not being a girl or gay, this movie doesn't sway me with the "ga ga" factor but at least it wasn't horrible.

I give the movie a 2/5. It's nothing special, and it won't rewrite cinematic history, but it does have it's moments.

Love Hurts

This is a rare gem.   It's a romantic comedy that isn't fluffed or sugarcoated, instead it's intelligent, real and honest.  It's actually embraces the idea that you can have an  movie with a strong story and excellent acting and have it still be fun,
tragic, heartbreaking and enjoyable.  I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really enjoyed this movie, and how much fun I'm going to have telling everybody they have to see it.

I give this movie a 5/5

Star Trek

Wowzers!! This was a fun ride! The story was excellent! The acting was was very good! The special f/x were amazing! They even offered an explanation as to why many events in the Start Trek Universe would be different! I'm actually struggling to find any real faults in this movie. Absolutely entertaining from beginning to end. That is unless you hate science fiction movies, or movies with "Star Trek" in the title.

I give this a 5/5.

Night At The Museum: Battle Of The Smithsonian

They wasted time on
some gags, that didn't really work and they didn't really flesh out the new characters very well. It seemed that they wanted to put a little more bang into the movie with the special f/x that in turn made the story feel rushed. Even with all that said, it's still a fun and enjoyable movie. Definitely worth watching with the family at least once.

I give it a 3/5

STORY TIME 1

WARNING..........WARNING

WARNING..........WARNING

WARNING..........WARNING

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING

Hello my friends, cohorts and those that aren't either, and welcome to my blog.

On this auspicious day I am starting something new.  This is where I am going to have some extremely twisted fun. This is STORY TIME.  Now what is STORY TIME you ask?  Well, let me tell you what STORY TIME  is all about.  STORY TIME  is all those messed up little story ideas that float through my head. They don't really have any kind of beginning, end or even a plot.

What they are, is a couple of paragraphs, mostly in a first person narrative and always in extremely poor taste!!! You know that little filter we all use real world?  The filter that stops all the really bad thoughts from coming out in a vocal format?  And sometimes they linger, fester and grow in the back of our minds...well that my friends is
STORY TIME!!

I am warning you that
STORY TIME will be foul, blasphemous, and always in very poor taste. These are the writings I usually delete because of all the reasons I have stated so far. I don't recommend you go any further.  If you do...

but in all fairness you have been warned.

I GOT JESUS IN MY FAX MACHINE
by Jose

Let me start by saying I love Jesus!

I have nothing but high regards for the man.

I talk with him all the time.  He's my best friend.  When Jesus calls on me to do something I do it, because he calls on me a lot.  I'm just being honest here.  He really does call on me...almost daily.

And usually at bar time.

And just so you know, Jesus is a mean drunk.

I can't tell you how many times I have walked into a bar filled with people and I see Jesus standing with his erection in hand, a bottle of wine in the other and a trail of feces leading right to him.

Or as he is oft to say "Look it's Holy Shit!!!  Well LAUGH FUCKWAD."  (That's right, I'm 'Fuckwad' to my Lord and Savior.  So what?  What does he call you?  Oooh that's right, he doesn't.)

"My wine will GIVE YOU WOOD SO HARD YOU CAN BE HUNG WITH IT!!  Not like the SWILL they SERVE here.  This tastes like someone CAME IN MY PISS, AND STIRRED IT WITH A USED TAMPON!!  I'm Preaching here, you LIMP DICK HAIRLESS MONKEYS!!"

He says, as he begins to masturbate while humming the theme to the A-team.

"Honey...yeah you, my wine will actually make you...all...kinds...of fuckable!!!  That's right FUCKERS, I promised you all a second coming and I KEEP MY PROMISES...AHHHHHH OHHHHH THAT'S THE SHIT RIGHT THERE!!" he yells with a lust satiated grunt.

Yup, that's him "preaching."  I can't say I like the new delivery, but he is the Son of God, so what you gonna do.  I mean who's ever gonna trump that?  Paris, Lindsey and Britney got nothing on Jesus.

It's not that Jesus calling on me bothers me. As a matter of fact he's a pretty nice guy. He's always been there for me.  So I feel it only fair to be there for him.

That is until he starts making wine. Than he's just mean.

But when he uses the fax machine, that's when he gets obnoxious.

The things he does with a Polaroid camera, a xerox copier, a marker and a fax machine is just wrong. Let me tell you this, nothing is creepier than getting a grainy fax from the Son of God "tucked" with the caption 'The Daughter of God is...' and then getting a second fax of him bent over exposing his bare bottom, and that caption reads "ready to be taken like an alter boy'.

One thing is for sure, I will NOT tell you what he has done with the holes in his hand, but I know I will never use the term "holy fuck" again.  Ever!

So when people tell me they have Jesus in their hearts, I always tell them...

"Be glad he doesn't have your fax number, because I got Jesus in my fax machine, and he's mean."
